  1. Sanjay Says:

A strong woman who deals all that life hands out with grace and humor is the ideal kind, I like to read about. That might not always be the case in real life but ideally speaking…

  2. Maureen Says:

An intelligent woman who thinks before she acts. Also, a sense of humor is very important. I much prefer to laugh rather than cry.

  3. Robin D. Owens Says:

Thanks…so we have strong, intelligent and someone who can laugh at life. Sounds like a GREAT heroine.

  4. Jennifer Yates Says:

A strong and intelligent woman with a great sense of humor sounds great. I love humor. I also like women who can stand on their own.

  5. Robin D. Owens Says:

Thanks, I think the days of women being passive are over.

  6. Megan Says:

I think I like a strong woman who’s absoloutly able to tell her hero what she wants/needs and is quite capable of protecting him if need be, I’m not talking butch and muscled I’m talking strong, confident, caring and capable.

I want the only thing she wants from the hero to be his heart. And I want her to be willing to fight for it. I want her to be able to laugh at her mistakes and be there when her hero needs her.

    Don’t want much do I?

  7. Robin D. Owens Says:

I’m taking notes! That sounds excellent. Yes, indeed, notes…

    Robin

  8. Mickey Says:

I like to read about heroines that can laugh at themselves as well as at life in general. I want her to be self confident and level headed. I want her to have some attitude. To be able to give as good as she gets! I do not like the kind that in the end lets the hero walk all over her. It’s one thing to offer advice and to attempt to keep her out of trouble, but not to attempt to keep her under his thumb.

Pretty much, I want her to be everything that I can not always be.

  9. Robin D. Owens Says:

Good response, Mickey…and we can’t always be what we want to be…and including some flaws (not doormat-ed-ness) is good for a heroine, too. She can’t be too perfect or we can’t relate.

    Thanks for the discussion!

    Robin

  10. Laurie Says:

I don’t like the rich, sexy heiress that expect the parents/husband to make her life “Easy”. I like woman that have had to prove themselves at home and in the work place. They are independent but not isolated. I like them to be able to relate to others. They need strong but caring partners.

  11. Robin D. Owens Says:

Another good suggestion! If a heroine is rich, I expect her to also be doing something else with her life, and have just as many problems to overcome that someone who isn’t rich does.

    Thanks for mentioning that, Laurie.

    Robin

  12. Karlitea Says:

A woman who isn’t ashamed of who she is. If she has principles at the beginning of the story, it better take more a masculine physique to change her mind. While she may be scared, please don’t make her wimpy. Have her believe in something more powerful than just love.

I like a good romance, but life isn’t just romance.

  13. Kathleen Says:

A woman with a sense of humor who doesn’t take life too seriously. Who can laugh at her mistakes and always willing to help others but also who do not have to much pride so that they will not except help themselves from others.
