Yellowstone and the surrounding area is my most favorite place. I would love to spend the summer months there full-time. And the holidays too.
I haven’t read many books about the area except for Linda Jacobs Yellowstone series. They make me feel like I’m really there.
Kim; I loved Victoria when I visited BC a few years ago. It was so lush and pretty. I also I got to visit Vancouver which I liked but not as much as Victoria. I’ve never been to Hawaii or Thailand.
Christy; Yellowstone is one of my favorite places too. As much as I like the West it doesn’t suit the type of stories I write. I think I’m more a city person when it comes to that.
All…I’ll be picking two winners at random this week for the mug and autographed book. One will win Cinderella’s Christmas Affair and the other the Christmas Antho.
One of the best vacations that my husband and I had was in Gatlinburg, TN. We stayed in a mountain cabin and it was a wonderful, serene place. I want to go there again.
I’m homesick for Victoria, B.C. and Banff and Jasper, Alta. in Canada. I would love to go back for a visit and see the mountains, the ocean and do it on a train ride through the Rocky Mountains.
I have lived in the same area (and house) my entire life so there isn’t really any place that I am homesick for. I do like reading about new places or the unfamiliar. It makes me want to visit new places.
Crystal–I think TN is so beautiful. I’ve visited the state a number of times and in all seasons and it’s always so pretty there. I love Dolly Parton and have been to Pigeon Forge a couple of times to visit Dollywood. I love the mountains…I think it’s because I always live in flat-land places…Florida, Chicago, Dallas.
RobynL–I would love to do one of those train rides across Canada. That looks like so much fun. One of my friends did it last year and raved about the trip.
Christy–I’ve never been to Whistler is it similar to Vancouver?
Jennifer–I can’t imagine living in the same area all my life. But my sister has. She loves it. She keeps me up to date on everything that’s going on in everyone’s lives.
PatL–I’ve been to Vegas and it is a lot of fun. I used to work at Disney and to be honest the hotel/casinos in Vegas reminded me of Epcot. I went on this gondola ride inside a hotel. It was awesome! I haven’t been to Hawaii but am longing to get there.
Danny–I can’t imagine what living outside the US would be like. I romanticize it in my mind and think it would be fun, but being surrounded by people who spoke a different language than mine would be hard, I think.
I went out camping (on my honeymoon, almost 30 years ago) in the Olympic Mountains near the small town of Port Angeles, Washington. We had the best time hiking, eating dungeness crab and the hugest blueberry muffins I’d ever seen. The area is gorgeous: Hurricane Ridge (you can actually see glaciers!) The view overlooking the Strait of Juan De Fuca and Vancouver Island is breathtaking!
The closest books I’ve read in that area are some of Debbie Macomber’s Bremerton area/naval books straight out of “An Officer and a Gentlemen”.
I’d love to go back!!
I absolutely loved San Francisco! I only got to spend 2 days there and wish it could have been a week. I want to go back so badly. There was such an amazing energy there and the weather was gorgeous.
Oh My Gosh! I don’t know what has been wrong with my computer - server - etc., but I haven’t been able to access this web-site since last Thursday.
Anyhow…thank you! I just got back from having my restylane injections at the dr.s’ office (gotta keep those wrinkles away) and I’m a sore and hurting puppy. This cheers me up and gives me something to look forward to.
One of the great parts for me about reading a book is visiting places I have never been to! Whether they are factual places or not, it is fun to picture these different towns or cities..or farms
I especially enjoy reading about scenic places.
As for visiting different places, I need to visit the same place during different times of the year. In particular, the midwest states in the fall when the leaves are gorgeous!
Katherine, Whistler is a ski town - we only spent a few hours there (with a tour group), but it looked like so much fun. I think they have golf in the summer. That is where the 2010 Winter Olympics are going to be.

Hi Katherine,
as soon as I read a book with a Floridian location I get homesick and want to get on the next plane to come to the US.
