In June my husband and I celebrated our 28th wedding anniversary and I was tickled pink with the “fantasy” date that he surprised me with. We went away for the weekend - the first day we went to my favorite antique store and he bought me a beautiful ring. Then lunch at a quaint little cafe (I love finding and eating at little places like that), then we went to a small resort where they have natural hot springs. We had our own private soaking pool were we relaxed for an hour and then we both received 2 hour massages. It was heavenly. And, for dinner that night we ate a wonderful restaurant.
It wasn’t anything spectacular or exotic, but it was one of the most relaxing and fun I’ve ever spent with my husband. And, it meant so much to me that he did it for me.
Christy; Congratulations on 28 years of marriage! That is a great anniversary trip. I’m envious of those two hour massages! It also sounds like your husband knows you really well.
All…I’ll be picking two winners at random this week for the mug and autographed book. One will win Cinderella’s Christmas Affair and the other the Christmas Antho.
I have never had my romantic fantasy come to life but it would be that he would get
a deli to pack up a picnic basket with cold chicken, grapes, different cheeses, a light sparkling wine or ginger ale, rolls(buns) and a delectable dessert and whisk me off to the country. We would find a nice spot where he’d lay down a blanket and
the two of us could enjoy the outdoors and the picnic in solitutde. Oh yes!
My romantic fantasy is just to be loved and accepted for who I am. Maybe we could have a nice quiet dinner and watch a movie at home. I am still looking for Mr. Right/Mr. Fantasy.
No my fantasy has not come true. I am married 37 years and would love to have a surprise trip planned or maybe a romantic dinner with a nice gift of jewelry or a book spending spree.
Good luck to everyone still looking for Mr. Right!
I’d love for my husband to plan a surprise trip. But I don’t think he would. It seems to me that of the majority of all my married friends, it’s mainly the woman who plans the surprise stuff. One of my friends surprised her husband with a trip to Vegas. She coordinated with his boss and came by the office and said come with me. He had no idea where they were going until they got to the airport.
What do you think makes a Mr. Right?
I have to say as I get older it seems to be changing. When I was single it was different than now that I have kids. But my husband keeps changing with each stage to still be my Mr. Right.
I think what makes a Mr. Right is different for everyone…I want someone who accepts me for who I am, loves me unconditionally, has a great sense of humor, is loyal, etc. Sounds like I just described a dog LOL
Like you said, this may change as I get older and I change.
My romantic fantasy scene is actually pretty simple… my husband and I in front of a beautiful fire with some wine and a blanket…no children around! Since I live in Florida and we don’t have a fireplace this is going to take some planning.
When we were first married we lived in Wisconsin and our first home had a beautiful floor to ceiling natural stone fireplace which we fired up quite often on those cold fall/winter nights.
After almost 30 years of marriage, I’m lucky to say that my husband is my best friend and definitely my romantic fantasy come to life.
I enjoy the stories where the setting is in a secluded cabin in the woods…and of course there is a storm, making it impossible for the characters to leave the cabin. I want that to happen to me!!..LOL LOL Although, I guess that won’t happen if I don’t travel to these secluded areas..LOL LOL

My romantic fantasy would be to be surprised by the man I love with a romantic getaway that he planned for us. No, it hasn’t happened yet.

I think Mr. Right is someone who accepts you for what or whom you really are. He just loves you and doesn’t want to change you completely.
