Getting Married! and Raising children! 30 years and 4 children If you’re married with kids you’ll know it’s RISKY!
As for other risky activities…swimming in the ocean -I’m deathy afraid of sharks! Hiking in the Canadian and American Rockies -fear of bears! wild cats!
DRIVING! People are crazy: either in too big of a hurry or distracted on their cell phones.
I think I took a very worthwhile risk in loving and marrying my husband. I took a risk when having my two beautiful children. Anytime you put your heart out there, loving someone more than yourself, it’s a risk. When you put yourself in your work for others to see, it’s a risk. As you (and Erica) said, if you never risk anything, you never truly live. Almost everything in my life that is meaningful was also a risk.
No I can say that I have besides having my daughter. It was very high risk for me to have children. I was so sick in and out of the hospital. I had to have her 5 weeks early due to complications. It was so worth having her,she is 18 now and the only regret was not being able to give her a brother or sister.
Hi Steph!!
Good question, but unfortunately, I am not a big risk taker.
I would describe myself as a fly by the seat of my pants personality, but that only applies to actually sitting down and long term planning.
If I am comtemplating something, I weigh all the risks and if there is a good chance that the outcome may not be favorable, I’ll bypass it.
Have I ever regretted it? On occassion, but that is just a part of my basic personality I can’t get past!
It would have to be something majorly important to me to consider taking a big risk.
A big risk I did take (after dh kicked me out) was to move another province away and start a new life. I had no job, not much money and was leaving my family behind. But I thought I could not stand running into my dh every now and then; it would hurt too much. I packed up and went with my old car to where my girlfriend and her dh lived. They left me stay there until I had a place to live and a job-within a few months this took place. This way I healed over time and eventually (7 yrs. later) moved back to where family lived. Upon coming back, I met and married my dh of now within app. 16 months.
I am with Laurie! Getting married and then having kids is a big risk. Especially since I did both later in life. i was 32 when I got married and I just had my last baby about 7 months ago. I am going to be 40 this year and did not want to have any more kids after this so I kind of cut it close. I have a boy and now a baby girl and I am very happy. It has meant sacrifices but they are well worth it. Would not trade my babies for the world.

No, I never have taken a big risk, at least not so far. But who knows what the future will bring

No, I haven’t taken what I might consider as a big risk, either.

I can’t say that I have taken a big risk. I am not brave enough to just jump without looking.

I’m not a big risk taker. I am the one on the side lines in awe of the ones that do take big risks….but we’ll see what the future holds
