You’re a Heroine
YOU are the heroine.
Yes, you. You who read paperbacks, or hardbacks, or ebooks. You’re my heroine, right here, in one of my books. You think not?
Ha! Well, look at the Heart series. Or the Summoning series. You have things in common with these women. You’re intelligent (but can make stupid mistakes). You’re honorable (but doubt whether you’ll find the courage to do the right thing). You’re talented and creative (and we all are).
Yes, you’re in HeartMate, or Heart Duel, or Sorceress of Faith, and so am I. I’m writing about women who have aspects of you, about people who you can identify with. I realized this recently when I was promoting Sorceress of Faith (out last month from Luna Books), and writing Protector of the Flight. I’ve had comments about Marian that she’s different from any other heroine I wrote. Someone else said she was very well-rounded…
Well, what I did was split off a bit of myself – the curious, intellectual, scholarly part of me…or perhaps I polished that facet of myself and let it shine, as we all show different facets of ourselves to others. With Alexa in Guardian of Honor, I let out my “Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead” adventurous me. You have her, too, I know it – somewhere, there’s a woman who wants to jump into life, just as there’s a woman who likes to retreat to a corner and observe, or a woman who strolls into a sacred glen under a full summer moon to experience magic.
Stick with me, baby, and we’ll explore all the facets of ourselves together. We’ll be diamond bright and shine!
And remember. I won’t ever kill you, and you’ll end up with a brooding/charming dark-visaged/silver-gilt-haired, commoner/nobleman SEXY hero.
May a little magic always grace your life.

Now, about the questions. For my own information, if you could relate her to one of my ladies, it would help me when I think about which aspect of Woman to explore next in my writing. Many thanks.
